The Ales of Arran
Remember our range of ales doesn’t end with our award winning Arran Blonde, we’ve also got our traditional range of Arran Dark, a smooth beer of weight and substance, brewed from only the purest water and natural ingredients, and free of artificial additives or preservatives, and Arran Sunset, which delivers a mature taste of receding brightness and leaves a lingering colourful glow. But we’ve also got Brewery Dug, an American Style IPA with Attitude, which is dry hopped giving it a great geranium & grapefruit hop aroma. Guid Ale, a light beer that is clean and fresh in flavour but with a significant presence. Clyde Puffer, which is an oatmeal stout with a coffee and nut aroma. Sweet and mellow body with a low hop taste, hints of coffee and dark chocolate and a smooth silky finish. And in smaller 330ml bottles, we’ve also got our newer brands of, Arran Id, which combines the colour and roasted malt characteristics of a porter or stout, with the drinkability of a pale ale, the smokiness of a German Black Lager, and the intense hop aroma of an American IPA, and Sleeping Warrior, our Barley Wine. Barley Wine is a style of strong ale originating in England and was normally kept for the aristocracy. The use of the word wine is due to its similar alcoholic strength of a fine wine, However since it is made from grain rather than fruit it is in fact, a Beer!
Last Posting Date
We’ve spoken to our couriers, and the last date we can guarantee that we’ll be able to get your orders by Christmas is Friday December the 13th. While orders after this date may be received by Christmas, we cannot guarantee it, so for merchandise, beer or giftpacks to be given as Christmas presents, orders will need to be in by the 13th at the very latest.
Arran Brewery’s Dreghorn site hosts Scottish Beer Awards
Arran Brewery recently hosted the SIBA Scottish Beer awards at our Arran View site in Dreghorn.
Catering was provided by The Auld Bakery and was reported by all to have been excellent. And we’re happy to announce that among an excellent field of beers, we took a Silver Award for Our “Brewery Dug” American styled IPA.
The SIBA competition was the first event to be held in the former games hall of the old primary school, which Arran Brewery has converted.
The hall held over 70 judges and staff and the event was considered a huge success.
